#TBT The Berricks (When they were three and a half)

This #TBT is pretty recent but things have changed significantly since. This was when the Berricks were three and a half. It was a rainy Sunday, but the love, laughter and life of the Berricks brightened the day. It was the last shoot they would do, before they welcomed the latest addition to the family into the world (post coming soon). It was a lovely afternoon, despite the rain and the bugs (oh the bugs!), and it's always fun spending time with the Berricks.

Happy Birthday Lebby!

One year ago today a miracle, an answered prayer, a source of joy, laughter, tears and inspiration came into the world. One year ago today a woman became a mother, of a beautiful soul. One year ago today a family crowded into a small waiting room, waiting to hear of the safe arrival of its newest member. One year ago today after seeing him, no one wanted to leave. One year ago today, I was blessed to witness the ending of one journey and the beginning of another. One year ago today we witnessed Leif (pronounced "life").
Thank you Lord for bringing Leif into this world and for blessing him daily. The first year of his journey comes to an end, but we know it's only the beginning, continue to bless and keep Him and give His parents the wherewithal to be the caregivers you have purposed them to be.

It's a beautiful thing working with family, it's even better when they're extremely talented! My cousin, my sister and myself came together to do a style shoot earlier in the summer.The vibe, the energy and the atmosphere was amazing, as we inspired each other to bring out some pretty good work (if I do say so myself lol). This post features the work of my cousin Joshama Mornan, an unbelievably talented make up artist based in Las Vegas. You can see more of her work here.

It's in the details

Weddings are a beautiful expressions of persons' love for each other. A public declaration, that he or she chooses to love their partner through everything. People see the grandness or the intimacy of the occasion and think, "Wow! These two really love each other!".
Still there is a demonstration behind closed doors, that as a photographer I have been privileged to see, that show another facet to this deep love. Things that sometimes go unnoticed, by guests and even sometimes family members. The attention given to minute details; the sacrifices made by a groom to ensure his bride feels valued; the efforts made by a bride to make her groom feel like he is the most important person in the room.
Sometimes the strong love and bond between two people can be found in the little details. You may not see it, but it's okay, it's not always meant for your eyes.
